Restaurant Review: Ollie's, Manchester, New Hampshire, Nice Family Place

This is not a story about Oliver (Ollie) Hardy from the old Oliver and Hardy comedy team. Instead, it is a family Greek restaurant on the west side of Manchester called Ollie's that a lot of you have probably never heard of.

We arrived on a recent Saturday night and after driving around the parking lot for awhile ended up across the street. They were very busy as we entered the restaurant, taking names for about a half our wait and we requested a booth as our usual preference.

The atmosphere at Ollie's is nothing special, they have three small rooms with booths and tables in what I think is comfortable for this family style restaurant. You will find sprinkled about pictures of Oliver and Hardy so if you are a fan of this old comedy team this place is a must. There is a green tone with lighter wall colors that give a welcoming effect.

Although the wait was supposed to be a half hour I was pleasantly surprised when the hostess seated us after 15 minutes at a booth near the front. Our waitress arrived a few minutes later and took our drink order.

They have a large menu with a lot of comfort foods and you will find just about any dish you might be looking for including Chicken, Beef, Lamb, Pasta's and Pizza. This particular night I went with the Teriyaki Steak Tips and my wife had the Baked Stuffed Haddock and they were both cooked just right. I do recommend the Chicken Tenders if you can't think of anything else.

So there you have it, I recommend Ollie's as a nice family restaurant. If you are in the Manchester area you might want to give it a try.
